The Golden Age of Railroading in America’s Heartland: The Photography of Otto C. Perry

The Golden Age of Railroading in America’s Heartland: The Photography of Otto C. Perry by James Warsher.  Hardbound, copyright 2005. 176 pages.

An examination of the photography of Otto Perry, an amateur photographer who was entranced by trains – so much so that the Western History Collection of the Denver Public Library holds 20,000 Perry negatives. This work chronicles arguably the best decades of Perry’s works from a technological and subject perspective – the 1920’s – 1940’s. 42 year railroad veteran Jim Warsher uses his expertise to bring each of the nearly 100 Perry photographs included in this volume to life.

    Hi,

I’m interested in one of your publications, ‘The Golden Age of Railroading in America’s Heartland: The Photography of Otto C. Perry’, as I already have a copy of the much earlier title, ‘Otto Perry: Master Railroad Photographer’ by James Albi and William C. Jones.

Since Otto took in excess of 20,000 railroad photographs during his life I expect the answer to my question will be “no”, but to the best of your knowledge would I be likely to find any duplication in James L. Warsher’s book or are the photographs that it contains previously unpublished ones, at least in the earlier title?

    Thank you
